About the event
The biggest party of the year returns to the Main Library with a full slate of family, evening and late-night programs to enjoy.
Afternoon of Ideas includes playful, interactive workshops with San Francisco Ballet, Prescott Circus and the Exploratorium, author talks with Kristina Wong and Elizabeth Partridge, plus much more.
Afterwards, the Main Library comes alive for Night of Ideas. From cultural expression to shared responsibility, this year’s theme, Lighting the Way, asks what guides us, what inspires positive change and how we can shape a more connected future together. Creative workshops, digital explorations, small-business marketplaces, musical performances and more await. Don't forget to stick around to cap off the night with our annual dance party.
Presented by Villa Albertine San Francisco, Asian Art Museum, Circuit Network, KQED and SFPL. All events are free and open to the public. Registration required.
